Cambodian Acting Head of State and Senate President Hun Sen hosted a State Banquet in honor of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the Peace Palace, the official office of the Cambodian Prime Minister, as part of Marcos’ three-day State Visit to Phnom Penh.
The visit was made at the invitation of His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni. In his remarks, President Marcos expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended by Cambodian leaders and people to him and his delegation, underscoring the strong and growing ties between the Philippines and Cambodia.
Earlier, President Marcos met with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation in areas including trade, security, and people-to-people exchanges.
The visit also serves as a reciprocal gesture to Prime Minister Hun Manet’s trip to the Philippines in February 2025. This marks President Marcos’ second official visit to Cambodia as head of state, following his attendance at the ASEAN Summit and Related Summits in 2022.
The Philippines and Cambodia have enjoyed formal diplomatic relations since August 20, 1957.
