Ascendion strengthens PH operations with AI-driven software engineering expansion

Must read

Ascendion, a global software engineering company, is ramping up its operations in the Philippines as part of its push to make the country a key hub for AI-powered software development.

“Our commitment to the Philippines has never been stronger,” said Ascendion CEO Karthik Krishnamurthy at a recent press briefing. “We are redefining how we serve clients and empower local talent with global capabilities.”

The company recently integrated Collabera Digital into its operations and launched AI Studio Manila, a facility dedicated to collaborative AI development and research. Ascendion plans to generate 6,000 new jobs over the next three years, with an estimated economic impact of $500 million.

“With one of the most tech-savvy populations in the world, the Philippines is uniquely positioned to lead in AI-powered digital transformation,” said Manan Mehta, Ascendion’s Senior Vice President for Global Growth Markets. A key part of the strategy is AI certification for all Filipino software engineers, ensuring they are equipped for next-generation development.

AI at the core of growth
Ascendion is embedding AI deeply into its operations, deploying AI agents to support engineers in coding and testing, and making AI training mandatory for all its Philippine-based teams. Its workforce is already collaborating with Fortune 500 companies in logistics, payment solutions, and healthcare—helping clients cut costs and boost productivity. One logistics client reportedly transformed a $33-billion unit by automating manual tasks and strengthening data-driven decision-making.

To further support innovation, Ascendion introduced Ascendion AVA+, an AI-powered software engineering accelerator designed to improve speed and productivity, and MeTAL, a talent orchestration platform that connects Filipino professionals with global projects.

“The focus is clear: bring cutting-edge AI-powered platforms, leverage the Philippines to serve global clients, and create global opportunities for engineers here,” Krishnamurthy said.

By consolidating its capabilities under the Ascendion brand, the company aims to position the Philippines as a global leader in AI-powered software engineering and a delivery center for enterprise-level digital solutions.
