Must read

CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA — Apple today unveiled the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, its most powerful and advanced Pro models to date. Featuring a redesigned aluminum unibody with an Apple-designed vapor chamber, the new Pro lineup delivers record-breaking performance, longer battery life, and major improvements to camera and video capabilities.

At the heart of both models is the A19 Pro chip, Apple’s most powerful and efficient iPhone processor yet, delivering up to 40% better sustained performance than the previous generation. Paired with iOS 26, the chip enables console-level gaming, advanced AI features through Apple Intelligence, and professional-grade video workflows.

Pro Design and Battery Life

The new brushed aerospace-grade 7000-series aluminum chassis integrates a laser-welded vapor chamber to improve heat dissipation, allowing for higher sustained performance while keeping the device cool. This architecture also makes room for a larger battery, giving iPhone 17 Pro Max the longest battery life ever in an iPhone. Both models support fast charging up to 50% in 20 minutes with Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter.

The Super Retina XDR display is available in 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch sizes, with ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On, and peak brightness of 3,000 nits. A new Ceramic Shield 2 protects both front and back, offering 3x better scratch resistance and 4x better crack resistance compared to earlier models.

Best Camera System Ever on iPhone

The iPhone 17 Pro lineup introduces three 48MP Fusion cameras — Main, Ultra Wide, and a new Telephoto — delivering the equivalent of eight professional lenses. The Telephoto camera features up to 8x optical-quality zoom at 200mm, the longest ever on iPhone. Digital zoom extends to 40x.

A new 18MP Center Stage front camera introduces a square sensor with wider field of view, landscape selfies, and AI-powered auto-framing. Dual Capture allows simultaneous recording from front and rear cameras in 4K HDR.

For professionals, iPhone 17 Pro debuts ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2, and genlock — making it the first smartphone to support video synchronization across multiple cameras and workflows.

Next-Generation Connectivity and iOS 26

The devices ship with the new N1 wireless chip supporting Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread for faster and more reliable connections. Select markets will receive eSIM-only models, allowing for even larger batteries and up to 39 hours of video playback.

Running on iOS 26, the iPhone 17 Pro brings Apple Intelligence features such as Live Translation, improved on-device AI models, new Photographic Styles (including “Bright”), and enhanced system design with Liquid Glass UI.
